Cymbals are part of Hindu worship

Though Hinduism may seem poles apart from Biblical norms, the religion has a lot of striking similarities to how God is worshipped in the Bible.

But this still does not dispute the truth that every command of God and every abomination warned against by God has been committed in the name of Hinduism.

*The earliest Hindu Scripture like the Rig Veda unequivocally states that idol worship is an abomination, just like the Bible does.

* The Hindu temple is constructed with a holy of holies, inner court and an outer court just like the Temple of God.

* Hindu worship style is just like that of the Bible:

  • It is congregational and has a group of people that leads and enables worship.
  • A lot of Biblical worship musical instruments are incorporated - cymbals, trumpets, stringed and wind instruments.

* Hindu worship is predominantly group singing called bhajans. Classical Indian music is probably more evolved than Western Classical, and the compositions often extol Hindu deities.

* The Hindu lifestyle is probably more Biblical than the 'Christian lifestyle' as the world perceives today.

  • The family network is very strong. Families have frequent fellowship with each other.
  • The respect for teachers and elders is very, very high.
  • The Hindu lifestyle has been able to keep India anchored to the 'good old values' despite rapid economic development.
  • The Hindu acknowledges and fears god probably more than any current, modern society. This is evident by the prayers said before the commencing of the working day, idols at offices, a special room for their gods at home, and even in healing. The Hindu would first pray to his god before calling the doctor.
